Wing cases and shellbacks
A strip pulled forward over the top of the body and tied down.
Tie the material in at the rear of the thorax (or the bend for a shellback), lying back. Make the thorax or body, then pull the strip forward over the top, keep it centred and flat, and tie it down at the front with a few firm turns.
Common mistakes
- A wing case that slips to one side.
- Pulling so hard the strip splits.
