Dubbing a body
Twisting fur onto the thread and wrapping it to form a fuzzy body.
Take a little dubbing, far less than you think, and pull the fibres apart so they lie loosely. Press it onto the thread and twist between thumb and finger in one direction only, so it tightens onto the thread as a slim noodle.
Wrap the noodle forward in touching turns. Add a little more towards the front for a taper.
Common mistakes
- Too much dubbing, giving a fat, shapeless body.
- Twisting back and forth, which loosens the noodle again.
