Bead heads
A metal bead slid onto the hook before the thread, for weight and flash.
Slide the bead round the bend with the small hole first, up to the eye. Hold it there while you attach the thread behind it, and build a few turns of thread or wire behind the bead to keep it in place.
Common mistakes
- Bead put on the wrong way round.
- A bead too big for the hook gape.
